We are pleased to announce that prof. Jacek Blazewicz, one of the most important members of our group, was distinguished by Polish Bioinformatics Society and granted the title of Honorary Member together with prof. Wieslaw Nowak (from Torun) and prof. Jerzy Tiuryn (from Warsaw). It is worth noting nobody had received this title for 15 years.

During Autumn Conference PTBI 2021 which took place 15-17th September, the results of the competition "The best master thesis defended in 2020" were announced. One of our students, Jacek Kaczor, won the award for his thesis titled (in Polish) "RNAloops: baza struktur wieloramiennych pętli RNA". He was supervised by a member of our group, PhD Maciej Antczak. We are pleased to announce that prof. Jacek Blazewicz received the title of Distinguished Scientist of Chinese Academy of Sciences.This title is a part of CAS President's International Fellowship (PIFI) program, it is awarded to foreign scientists who are respected figures in their own fields with outstanding scientific accomplishments. Every year, CAS institutes submit applications for nomination of (up to) 200 foreign scientists, from whom the laureates (from several research fields) are finally chosen. We are pleased to inform, that a member of our group - prof. Marta Szachniuk, has been nominated for the 6th edition of Polish Intelligent Development Award in the category "Scientist of the Future". "The biggest Tech and women-related conference in Europe" took place 13-14 November 2019 in Warsaw, Poland. The even was organised by Perspektywy Education Foundation. Among the participants were women from our group.Official webpage

Maciej Antczak is a scientist and a member of our group. He created many computational solutions for RNA 3D structure prediction. Those solutions are publicly available as web services allowing for scientific, educational and industrial use. Maciej Antczak helps also in organising various scientific conferences (polish and international) and is a very dedicated and innovational teacher. For those accomplishments he was given the Award of "Polityka" for outstanding scientific achievements.Source (in Polish)
